The Oceanfront is a comprehensive new community – a place to live, work, learn, and play – being planned for the community-owned land on the oceanfront peninsula. The vision for the Oceanfront places community first; it reflects and respects the values of all of the people of Squamish. Here, all paths will lead to, and along, the water’s edge, where numerous new shoreline elements will bring the oceanfront alive while thoughtful internal site uses and authentic design, together with the breath-taking natural grandeur of the site, will create inspired living for all.
The Oceanfront offers tremendous economic and community opportunities to Squamish. It will help to revitalize and enrich life in Squamish in every way. At build-out it will provide 2,200 new jobs and new recreational amenities including almost 19 acres of new parkland, beaches and nearly 8km of new trails and paths.
Gifted by the Province of British Columbia to the residents of Squamish, this crown jewel of the corridor, where Sea meets Sky, is an incredible opportunity whose time has come. The plan before you reflects extensive community consultation.
