SODC sponsors kiteboarding event August 20-22
The Squamish Windsports Society (SWS) has announced that the 2010 West Coast Open Regatta and 2010 Canadian National Championships Regatta will be held in Squamish next weekend, August 20-22, 2010, and the Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation (SODC) is supporting the event as a sponsor.
The West Coast Open was created last year in an effort to bring a higher caliber of racing to the region, already a destination for windsport fans from all over. In fact, with Squamish being the premiere kiteboarding location for all of Canada, it seemed fitting to invite riders from across the country to compete both in the WC Open and gain ranking for national titles as part of the Canadian National Championships.
The Squamish Windsports Society has a mandate to promote and support all windsports activities in the area. The SWS is the hosting entity for this event, and is providing full, enthusiastic support.
The SODC will share info about the exciting new development plans in Squamish and the new future windsports park & beach at next weekend's event.
