District of Squamish
Squamish is a district municipality under the Local Government Act. At the District Hall, Mayor and Council oversee and Department Heads manage the many services and administrative requirements for Squamish. Municipal services and programs are operated and delivered from various sites throughout the District.
Planning for the entire oceanfront is led by the District of Squamish as it relates to land use approvals, permits, etc.. All of this is undertaken in a consultative and open form. We see community members, stakeholders, and landowners as critical members of the broader team working together for the good of Squamish.
