THE WORK PLACE IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE PENINSULA AND AN ASSET TO ALL OF SQUAMISH. IT PROVIDES LOCAL EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC STIMULUS. IT CREATES WORK-NEAR-HOME OPTIONS IN THIS GROWING COMMUNITY.
The Work Place adds depth to the play activities seen on the site, by including services and creations to sustain these activities. As the Squamish Oceanfront develops and word spreads about this unique community, larger employers will begin to take notice and locate offices here to take advantage of the local, highly skilled workforce.
Working side-by-side, light industry to office workers meet in the streets and catch up over lunch, while studio space gathers artists to hone their crafts, co-create and share inspiration. In this way, the district incites the social melding seen throughout the Village, at the Oceanfront and in the neighbourhoods. Here people live where they work, work at their play, play as they learn, all together. In fact, at build-out, the Squamish Oceanfront will host over 2,200 full-time employees.
